One simple changeEnergy efficient, compact fluorescent light bulb.

Your students will help to enlighten the community by explaining a simple but important message. The message behind our fundraising project is that we need to have a measurable and significant impact on protecting our environment. If every home in the United States changed one traditional light bulb to an ENERGY STAR, compact fluorescent, we would:

  • Reduce energy costs by $3 billion
  • Cut greenhouse gases by 4,500,000,000 pounds
  • Close two coal burning power plants
  • Save enough energy to supply 2.5 million homes.

Raising funds through your project is important. It is also important to be able to educate our children on the issues facing our environment so they can help to enlighten their community. Educational materials are already prepared for curriculum at all levels. Regardless of whether your students are in elementary schools, middle schools, or high schools, each student has the opportunity to learn, participate and contribute to the community.

Integrated with Curriculum

Some fundraiser projects can be a disruption or at least a distraction from the educational process. Messages for this project have been incorporated into lesson plans and materials.

  • Curriculum Guides are available from ENERGY STAR
  • Educational Material is also available from NEED – the National Energy Education Project
  • There is a climate change web site for children, with a special section for teachers.
Our children are ready to be part of the global solution. See how they can be empowered by your fundraising project to have an impact on climate change.Change a light, ENERGY STAR banner with link.
