Service Lamp Attends July FCCLA National Leadership Meeting

Service Lamp attended Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, 2008 National Leadership Meeting in Orlando, Florida, July 13-17, 2008. More than 5,000 participants were expected to attend.

Annual Meeting

FCCLA students and advisers gather each July to elect new national officers, receive national awards, compete in STAR Events, attend dynamic general sessions, and take part in leadership training.

Excellence Electrified

The student-devised subject for the 2008 annual national meeting was “Excellence Electrified.” Throughout the five-day convention, participants examined and discussed several critical issues, including family, school and community violence prevention, physical as well as financial fitness, future career exploration and countless community service projects.

Service Lamp representatives met with a large number of participants during the event to explain how our fundraising project was an excellent fit with the "Excellence Electrified" theme of the event. Our fundraising project is a fit for all levels from elementary school throuogh high school. Several student  expressed interest in the fundraising project and information kits were distributed.
